Duquesne University's Distance Learning Programs

Mylan School of Pharmacy
Non-Traditional Doctor of Pharmacy Program
The Non-traditional Doctor of Pharmacy program is designed as an accessible and flexible way for working pharmacy practitioners to obtain a Pharm.D. degree. It is targeted for adult learners and will focus on practical applications of acquired knowledge and skills in the pharmacist's practice environment.

School of Nursing
RN-BSN/MSN
The RN-BSN/MSN track offers online courses for registered nurses pursuing the BSN and MSN degrees in nursing. Through the acceptance of transfer credits, CLEP testing, and challenge examinations, the School of Nursing strives to apply the RN's previous learning experience towards the requirements of the BSN degree.

Post-BSN Certificates
The Post-BSN Certificates are offered as a way for baccalaureate-prepared nurses to learn specialty skills that might not have been offered in their baccalaureate-degree programs. The faculty recognize that, in the changing health care delivery climate, nurses need more specialized knowledge and skills as practice roles change. At Duquesne University, we address this need by offering Post-BSN Certificates: Nursing Informatics and Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA).

Master of Science in Nursing
This program is designed to meet the current and future needs of nurses who are prepared to plan, initiate, effect, and evaluate change in the health care delivery system, insure quality patient / consumer care, and enhance the profession of nursing. The faculty has a commitment to fostering a creative and flexible environment where students can pursue scholarly excellence. The learning process is viewed as a shared experience where students are encouraged to actively participate with the faculty in scientific inquiry and research.

Post-Master's Certificates
The Post-Master's Certificates are offered as a way for master's-prepared nurses to learn specialty skills that might not have been offered in their master's degree programs. The faculty recognizes that, in the changing health care delivery climate, nurses need more specialized knowledge and skills as faculty and advanced practice roles change. At Duquesne University, we address this need by offering five post-master's certificates: family nurse practitioner (FNP), psychiatric-mental health nursing, transcultural nursing, nursing education, and nursing administration. The programs range from 12 credits (nursing education and transcultural nursing) to 34 credits (FNP).

PhD Program
The School of Nursing Doctoral Program is designed to provide core content in nursing theory development and research and practical experience in a functional role, clinical specialty, or research activity.
